1982 Census of Retail Trade:  Merchandise Line Sales                RC82L...

These files show the sales of retail establishments with payroll by merchandise
line by kind of business.  File 1 (corresponding to printed table 1) organizes
the data by kind of business; file 2 (table 2) organizes the data by broad
merchandise line.  Detailed merchandise lines are shown only in file 1.
Separate files show data for the U.S. and states (RC82L?XS), metropolitan
areas (RC82L?MM), and the nonmetropolitan remainders of states (RC82L?NO).
The U.S. data correspond to those in print; the state and metro area data are
available only in computerized media and microfiche.

   On the FILE SELECTION MENU  -  Select U.S & state vs. metro area data

   On the MAIN MENU you may

1  Select ITEMS       select specific statistics to display out of each record
2  Select RECORDS     select merchandise lines, kinds of business and/or areas
3  Add LABELS         add mdse line or kind-of-bus. descriptions or area names
4  Select an INDEX    resequence records by mdse line (file 1 only--advanced)
5  Format options     select a columnar report or rowwise listing

6  Display to Screen
7  Print              send output to printer (use option 5 to configure)
8  EXTRACT DATA       create an extract file in any of 3 formats
