Analytic Report Series:  Exports from Manufacturing Establishments, 1987-89

These data include direct export data, as reported or estimated by manufac-
turers and then inflated to match official export statistics.  Supporting
exports are estimated from BEA's input-output accounts.  Indirect employment
estimates include employees in nonmanufacturing, such as farming, mining, or
services, required in producing the goods to be exported.

Two files present annual statistics at the national and state levels--one with
employment related to manufactured exports for nonmanufacturing as well as
manufacturing sectors, the other with manufacturers shipments and employment
related to exports by SIC.  A third file appears only for 1987, and shows
establishments by export intensity by SIC and employment size.
