1992 Census of Manufactures:  Geographic Area Series

1992 Geographic Area Series files include statistics for states, counties,
places, and metro areas nationwide.  MC92A4.dbf also includes national totals.
(Area series data for 1987 and 1982, in a format comparable to the 1992 data
here, are included on the Volume 4, Nonemployer Statistics disc.)  Some state
figures are slightly revised in the MC92S summary series.

Value of shipments by product class is included for states in the MC92F
catalog.  Annual statistics for 2-, and 3-digit industries are shown at the
state level under the ASM catalog.

To select data for all counties or all places in area series files, select
records using the GEOTYPE variable.

                        e.g., employment, value added, shipments
2  Select RECORDS    select which industries, products, or year(s) to display
3  Add LABELS        add titles for industries, or footnotes
