=>PUBLICATIONS

     The Census of Construction Industries is taken once every 5 years.
     The census covers all establishments engaged in construction,
     including:  Building contractors; Heavy construction contractors;
     Special trade contractors (including plumbers, carpenters, painters,
     electricians).

     Data products in the Census of Construction Industries are issued in 4
     publication series and in 3 other media:  printed reports; CD-ROM;
     highlights online.

=>PRELIMINARY INDUSTRY SERIES

     The Preliminary Industries Series (CC92P521 through CC92P799 and
     a Summary) is completely available on discs 1E - 1G and replaced
     with the complete Final Industry Series on later discs.  This series
     consists of twenty-six separate industry reports and a United States
     summary report, providing national statistics for establishments with
     payroll.  The Statistics shown for 1992 include: Number of
     establishments, Number of employees, Payroll, Value of construction
     work done, by type of structure, and Selected operating costs.

=>FINAL INDUSTRY SERIES

     The Final Industry Series (CC92I521 through CC92I799 and a
     Summary) is completely available, as of January 1996.  This series
     consists of twenty-six separate industry reports and a United States
     summary report, providing statistics for the Nation and individual
     States on establishments with payroll.  These reports update figures
     from the preliminary industry series (employment, payroll, value of
     construction, etc.) and provide measures of the following: Capital
     expenditures, Inventories, Industry profiles, Assets, Depreciation, and
     much more.

=>GEOGRAPHIC AREA SERIES

     The Geographic Area Series (CC92A01 through CC92A09 and a
     Summary) is completely available, as of June 1996.  This series
     consists of nine reports on the construction industries, representing
     each census geographic division, and a United States summary report. 
     Regional reports provide detailed data for States and metropolitan
     statistical areas.

=>SUBJECT REPORT

     The subject report, Legal Form of Organization and Type of
     Operation (CC92LF) is  available, as of  November 1995.  This
     consists of one report providing selected national statistics for each
     industry by legal form of organization and type of operation.  This
     report includes data for establishments with and without payroll.  Data
     in this report include:  Employment, Payroll, Value of construction
     work done, and Selected operating costs.

=>OTHER ECONOMIC CENSUSES REPORTS

     The Census of Construction Industries is part of the 1992 Economic
     Censuses.  These are conducted at five-year intervals in years ending
     in 2 and 7 and consist of eight separate censuses:
          Census of Retail Trade
          Census of Wholesale Trade
          Census of Service Industries
          Census of Transportation, Communications, and Utilities
          Census of Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate Industries
          Census of Manufactures
          Census of Mineral Industries
          Census of Construction Industries
     ...plus several related programs: enterprise statistics; information on
     minority-owned and women-owned businesses; and the Census of
     Outlying Areas, including separate economic censuses of Puerto Rico
     and other outlying areas.  The Census of Agriculture and Census of
     Governments are conducted separately.
