The universe of these files is establishments primarily engaged in
mining.  This universe includes all establishments classified in the mining
Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes 1011 through 1499.  Both
operating establishments and auxiliary establishments are included in all
files.

=>GEOGRAPHIC COVERAGE

Data are provided by Total for All Minerals Industries by State

=>SOFTWARE ACCESS

These data are only accessable via the EXTRACT software.

=>RELEASE SCHEDULE

The data from this Subject Series publication for Mining are to be included
on CD-ROMs 1i and 1j.  For a complete listing of which files are included

data from the other files was not included on the 1987 CD-ROM.
