Nonemployer Statistics

Nonemployer Statistics provide data for establishments without
payroll (i.e., no paid employees) along with data for
establishments with payroll and for all establishments by kind of
business for the United States, States, Metropolitan Areas,
Counties, and Places.

All other tabulations from the Census of Service Industries,
including all Geographic Area Series data, do not include
nonemployers.

Nonemployers account for 10.6 percent of total taxable service
receipts.

These data are provided on a separate CD-ROM (1992 Economic Census
CD-ROM Volume 4, Nonemployer Statistics) sent to all subscribers to
CD-ROM Volume 1, Report Series; the Nonemployer Statistics (Volume
4) disc is also available for purchase separately.
