Nonemployer Statistics provide data for establishments without payroll (i.e.,
no paid employees) along with data for establishments with payroll and for
all establishments by kind of business for the United States and States.

All other tabulations from the Census of Transportation, Communications,
and Utilities, including all Geographic Area Series data, do not include
nonemployers.

Nonemployers account for 10 to 12 percent of revenues in SIC major groups
41, 42 and 47, but only 1 percent or less of revenues among other major
groups covered in the census.
