and institutions.

report, WC92-S-3 with additional data for selected States and metropolitan 
areas.

The 1992 Census of Wholesale Trade covers wholesale trade as defined in
the 1987 Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Manual.  This
includes establishments classified in Major Groups 50 and 51. 

The Commodity Line Sales  report uses 68 SIC or kind-of-business (KB)
classifications.  Each SIC classification is further divided into three major
types of operation codes (merchant wholesalers, manufacturers' sales branches
and offices, and agents, brokers, and commission merchants).  These KB's may
be compaired in SICKEY92.dbf  

=>SOFTWARE ACCESS

EXTRACT   This software system, included on this CD-ROM, provides
access to every file and data item discussed in the Technical Description
section of this abstract.

GO92   This software system, also included on this CD-ROM, provides 
a more "user-friendly" access to selected statistics from the
economic censuses.  These include geographic area series data as well as 
commodity line data.
