1992 TIGER/Line Files

These files represent the orginal 1992 TIGER/Line files released in 1993 and 1994.  These files were taken directly from the original CDs and zipped into county file packages.

Please see the Documentation folder for the original documentation that accompanied the 1992 TIGER/Line files.
 
We cannot provide any support for conversion of these files into any other format.  We recommend that you read the documentation for information on the format of these files and guidance on how to use these files.  

We recommend that if you have difficulty using these files, and you need historical shapefiles, that you see the National Historical GIS (https://www.nhgis.org) which provides aggregate census data and GIS-compatible boundary files for the US between 1790 and 2010 free of charge.
