These earlier versions of the Census 2000 TIGER/Line files have been superceded by the UA Census 2000 TIGER/Line files. Multiple versions of Census 2000 TIGER/Line files were released so that we could make available to the public important new geographic areas as soon as they were delineated. Each release adds to the information in the previous release. The 108th CD Census 2000 TIGER/Line files, will be the final Census 2000 TIGER/Line release. It will have all of the Census 2000 related geographic information including information about the 108th Congressional District boundaries. It is scheduled for release in early 2003.
Census 2000 TIGER/Line® Files Released October 2001.
The Census 2000 TIGER/Line files contain all Census 2000 entities EXCEPT FOR Urbanized Areas, Urban Clusters (2000) and Public Use Microdata Areas (PUMAs) (2000), which had not yet been delineated at the time of the creation of this version of the TIGER/Line files. The Census 2000 TIGER/Line files include ZIP Code® Tabulation Areas (ZCTAsTM). The address ranges appearing in the Census 2000 TIGER/Line files are based upon the addresses in the final Master Address File (MAF) used for tabulating Census 2000. These were the major differences between the Census 2000 and Redistricting Census 2000 versions of the TIGER/Line files.
Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line® Files Released December 2000 through March 2001.
The Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line files were specifically intended to support the needs of the redistricting community. This version of the TIGER/Line files contains all the Census 2000 entities EXCEPT FOR the ZIP Code® Tabulation Areas (ZCTAsTM), the Urbanized Areas, and the Public Use Microdata Areas (PUMAs). They also do not have the updated address ranges based on the final Census 2000 information. The address ranges are comparable to those in the 1999 TIGER/Line files.
