The U.S. Census Bureau is making this ASCII text version of the Census 2000 TIGER/Line Technical Documentation available as an alternative to the PDF version in compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. It is intended specifically for use with screen reading programs. This ASCII text version of the documentation is NOT identical to the PDF version of the technical documentation; the graphics have been replaced by narrative descriptions of the information depicted in the graphics. No attempt has been made to improve the visual appearance of the ASCII version for other uses because appearance is not an issue for use with screen reading programs.
