This disc contains the 1992 Truck Inventory and Use Survey
Microdata file.  It is not available in print.  The file may be
accessed by way of public-domain software included on this disc
(QUICKTAB) or by various commercial software packages.

=>FILE STRUCTURE

Data File

The 1992 TIUS Microdata file is presented in ASCII format -
TI92MDF.DAT.

=>DOCUMENTATION FILES

You may view or print the TIUS menu files using DocView.  These
menu files are in ASCII format to allow you to import them into
your own word processing software for printing.

Data Dictionary File 

The TIUS data dictionary is available in several forms.  First,
the \TOOLS\DD contains a TIUS data dictionary developed for use
with QUICKTAB.  You will find directions for printing this
version of the TIUS data dictionary in the QUICKTAB User's Guide
for TIUS.  Next, you may view or print the TIUS data dictionary
using the DocView software.  These four files are in ASCII format
to allow you to import them into your own word processing
software for printing.  Finally, the TIUS data dictionary is
available as a complete document in WordPerfect 5.1 or ASCII
formats.

Record Layout File

The TIUS record layout is available in several formats.  You may
view or print the record layout using the DocView software. 
These four files are in ASCII format to allow you to import them
into your own word processing software for printing.  Also, the
TIUS record layout is available as a complete document in
WordPerfect 5.1 and ASCII files.

QUICKTAB User Guide

The QUICKTAB USER GUIDE FOR THE TRUCK INVENTORY AND USE SURVEY
MICRODATA FILE is available in WordPerfect 5.1 or ASCII files
(\DOCUMENT\QTIUSGUI.WP or \DOCUMENT\QTIUSGUI.TXT).  You may view
and print it through DocView, too.
