Excluded are nondepreciable capital assets including inventories and intangible assets, such as expensed mineral exploration, development, land, and rights.
The definition of fixed depreciable/depletable assets is consistent with the definition of capital expenditures. For example, expenditures include actual capital outlays during the year rather than the final value of equipment put in place and buildings completed during the year.
