This industry group comprises establishments primarily engaged in operating (1) general warehouses and storage facilities; (2) refrigerated warehousing and storage; (3) farm product warehousing and storage; and (4) operating other warhousing and storage facilities, such as bulk petroleum storage, lumber storage terminals, and whiskey warehousing.

For the 2007 Commodity Flow Survey, this industry group only includes captive warehouses that provide storage and shipping support to a single company. Warehouses offering their services to the general public and other businesses are excluded.
