When assembling, or bundling, individual map sheet pdf files into a single pdf using a custom web service (CAMPS_PDFGen_1-0_2017-02-22-1354.lca) using Adobe LiveCycle ES4 without SP1, the thumbnail labeling does not work as expected. The labels for the individual map sheets in the individual pdf files ARE correct in the thumbnail pane: the index map is labeled "INDEX" and the other sheets are labeled "Sheet N" where N is the map sheet number we have defined in the pdf. See individual_label_correct_sheet_3.jpg for an example of a correctly labeled map sheet. All individual pdf files in the package we are sending you have correctly labeled pages when viewing them in the thumbnail pane. The bundled pdf file, however, changes the thumbnail labels for most of the map sheets. The index map (or page 1) is still "INDEX" as desired but the other map sheets are not getting the correct # reference: The word "Sheet" is desired; but we are observing the bundled PDF (from page 2 on) to have incorrect labels-- "Sheet X" where X is twice the value of the map sheet number; i.e. map sheet 1 is incorrectly labeled "Sheet 2", map sheet 2 is incorrectly labeled "Sheet 4", map sheet 3 is incorrectly labeled "Sheet 6", and so on. See items marked with red arrows in bundled_pdf_labels_incorrect.jpg to draw your attention to the problem. It is curious that the source individual pdfs that we are directing our LiveCycle service to bundle have the correct label but those labels do not come through into the bundled pdf. The LUCA18C89012.ddx file is only pointing to the pdfs that have correct labels to generate one bundled pdf so it seems that LiveCycle is doing something to increment the bundled pdf sheet numbers. If we take out numeric values in the individual pdf files we are asking to be bundled, it appears that LiveCycle behaves correctly in that the correct sheet labels get put into the bundled pdfs. When our system was upgraded to Adobe LiveCycle ES4 SP1, the attached bundling web service did not run at all. To be able to get a job to even complete, we had to roll back off of SP1. Now that SP1 has been rolled back, we are able to bundle PDFs successfully, however with this undesired label output result we described above. Labeling these pages correctly is important for our larger operation.
