Microdata File - Used to generate your own tables. The
term microdata refers to the the individual responses for
each vehicle in the sample. The individual vehicle data on this CD-ROM
give you the freedom to calculate the statistics that suit your needs.

PDF Files - Used to view previous 1997 data releases.
The PDF (Portable Document Format) files include the U.S. Summary and each state
(including the District of Columbia). In order to view these files you will need Adobe Acrobat
which is pre-loaded onto this CD-ROM.

Pre-defined Tables - Used to view data
that may be commonly used, but were not previously released in the state or U.S.
PDF files. The tables are viewed using the Ivation 20/20 Browser installed on
this CD-ROM.

Data Dictionary - Used as a reference for the data contained in
the microdata file. The data dictionary contains a complete listing of each mnemonic available
in creating cross-tabulations, as well as a description of what each mnemonic represents and a range of possible
responses. When creating a cross-tabulation, the
mnemonics to choose from will appear in alphabetic order. To view a list of the mnemonics grouped by
related topics, click on the link provided (mnemonic list).
